Local Business Centres buck the recession trend

April 2010

Martin Wilesmith, Malvern business man and owner of two successful Worcestershire Business Centres – Link Business Centre in Malvern and Upton Business Centre – is testament to the fact that good ideas and strong management can help business thrive even in these difficult times.

Mr Wilesmith recently decided to organise a questionnaire, asking tenants at both of his Centres what more could be done to improve things, with all participants being entered into a prize draw. Toasting the positive feedback is winning Link Business Centre tenant, Norman Stockall of Stockall Electronics, who has been based at the Centre since it opened, over 14 years ago. Moving down the generations, Norman’s daughter Kate, has now joined the team and his son Darren, also runs a business from the same premises – Worcester Solar Heating, which he launched in 2006.

Worcester Solar Heating provide renewable energy efficient heating solutions to both the commercial and domestic market. They employ local labour and have many satisfied customers who have benefited from reduced fuel bills and increased value to their properties, as well as the feel good factor of knowing they have contributed to the sustainability of the environment by reducing their CO2 emissions. Worcester Solar Heating can be contacted on 01684 575892.

Commenting on the Centre, both Norman and his son agreed that it is ideal for their particular business and that it’s friendly, secure atmosphere, where people really get to know each other is an ideal environment to ensure efficiency and productivity.

“It’s always good to hear that businesses are doing well and that our tenants are pleased with how the centres are run.” said Kim Riding, site administrator.
